TORSO II – Twisted Female Torso
Over the years I have attended a number of life drawing classes where I have been allowed the time to study the human form which I love and continue to do so. I then longed to produce some figurative sculptures and apply what I have learnt in the 3D. The female torso is such a beautiful part of the human body! I was very fortunate to have access to a wonderful female model who was able to hold poses for extended periods of time.
Having sculpted a very classical female torso (Torso I), I wanted this figurative sculpture to show an exaggerated twist of the figure, creating energy and movement. It forces you to want to circle around the figurative sculpture and view it from different angles.
This particular sculpture is mounted on Portland Stone plinth. It can be cast as a bronze resin as a limited edition of 25 or as a bronze as a limited edition of 9.
