CONTROLLED POWER – A Trotting Horse (extended trot)
Here is a horse who has power – he is not wild, but being controlled, and through the control, he demonstrates incredible elegance in the shapes he creates and the way he manages his strength in an extended trot. There are the 3 triangular shapes between the legs. The stride length of the hind legs are almost identical to that of the front legs. The hind foot is going to land a fraction before the front foot. There is some tightness through the loin and shoulder; the loin is full and round, the front leg straighter via the knee further back. The tightness causes the near miss between the two feet.
I have exaggorated various angles of the body so we feel the horse is almost dancing to a rhythm – a rhythm or life, showing us all, his power and beauty. I sometimes wish I can hold such power and elegance at the same time in life!
This horse sculpture would sit comfortably as centre piece as its about 40cm long and is a limited edition of 12 in bronze.
